On Thursday, April 13 we will drive up to St. Helena to visit the Bale Grist Mill Historic park.  It’s about a 2-hour drive.

Our private one-hour tour will start at 1:00 pm.  The mill, built in 1846 by Dr. Edward Turner Bale, received the property in a land grant from the Mexican government. This mill, a technical innovation, provided a special quality for making various kinds of bread.  Included as part of the tour is a demonstration by a miller who will use the grist mill to convert grain to flours. There is a per-person fee for the tour.

After the tour we will have lunch at a near-by restaurant (TBD).
