Bel Air Parking Lot


On Friday, June 10, our private 1-hour walking tour begins at 10:00 am. Tour cost is $3.00 per person. Lunch will be at a restaurant in nearby Coloma (TBD)

In 1848, while James W. Marshall was building a sawmill for Captain John Sutter using water from the South Fork of the American River, he discovered Gold!  The word spread quickly and triggered the California Gold Rush of 1849.
The Park features a museum, many original and restored buildings, an Old Chinese General Store and costumed volunteers.
