Our next run is on Friday, March 15 to the Folsom Powerhouse and Museum in Folsom.
We have a one-hour private tour at 11:00 am with a docent who will tell the story about how the American River’s rushing water was used to power its newly invented turbines to generate power to Sacramento.
In 1895, one of the longest electrical distribution lines in the U.S., the Folsom Hydroelectric Power Plant was one of the first to use alternating current electricity to deliver power over greater distances.
Sacramento was powered by this early model for 50 years. The museum is informative with pictures and displays.
Please bring $10 in cash for parking, the tour is no charge.
After our tour, we will drive to the Spaghetti Factory in Rancho Cordova for a 12:30 pm lunch reservation.
We will meet at the usual place in the Bel Air parking lot at 9:30 am, and leave at 10:00 am. Directions will be provided. The drive home is on your own...
Please RSVP to heidiwarrickx3@gmail.com by Wednesday, March 13.
