On Friday, March 10, we will drive to the Hotel Leger in Mokelumne Hill for lunch. It’s about a 32-mile, 40-minute drive.

The Hotel Leger was established in 1851, and is one of the longest continually operating hotels in California.

The town and hotel were once the busiest in the Mother Lode, attracting miners and business people from around the world.

We will meet at 10:45 am the Bel Air parking lot nearest the Taco Bell, and depart at 11:00 am. Lunch is at noon.

The drive will be on Hwy 16 then onto Hwy 49 straight to Mokelumne Hill. If it rains, feel free to drive any vehicle you wish. We drove there recently and everything was smooth sailing.

The “Chef’s Table" items at the bottom of the menu are NOT served at lunch.

After lunch you may want to visit some “artsy” shops in town, including their local library.
